I consider myself an OK writer. Certainly not Hemingway but also certainly not ... who is awful? Some Harlequin romance writer or something (lot of lumberjacks getting lucky in those somehow ... not that I would know; who has even met a lumberjack other than Wolverine?). I am running out of adjectives to explain the White Sox lineup. It honestly makes me laugh. I half expected to see Mitchell Trubisky batting cleanup today. But I'm not bitter. It is Garrett Crochet pitching so we can't crush this. I was really hoping that Brewers starter Robert Gasser (known to buddies as Bob Gas) would be set O/U 2.5 ER as I would have played Under that for sure but no dice.

The Rangers have their backs against the wall but are not out of this series just yet. Playing on the road has been a plus throughout the postseason in both conferences (witness the Oilers winning in Dallas last night) and New York is 5-2 as a visitor in the playoffs, including a Game 3 win in Sunrise. This "total" at seven seems a bit low considering that Reid Detmers is on the mound for the Halos. Notoriously streaky, but it has been a while since Detmers looked even a little bit good; certainly not in May, when he posted a 9.49 ERA. No surprise, then, that the last six games he has started have all landed "over" with the opposition scoring at least five runs (often much more) in the process. With Chris Sale going seven innings in his recent starts for the Braves and having allowed only two runs the entirety of May (when posting an 0.56 ERA), we hardly envision run-challenged Oakland doing much damage tonight at Truist Field. The question about the "under" here is if Aaron Brooks (who hasn't pitched badly in three starts; 3.93 ERA) and the A's bullpen are up to keeping the Atlanta offense in check. Evidence from earlier this week suggests maybe so, as the Braves' four runs last night represents an explosion in the post-Ronald Acuna portion of the season when Atlanta has scored just 11 runs across the past five games. Kyle Bradish has won four of his last five starts, he's been sharp. His last start was his best. He went seven innings, allowed no hits, no runs, and had 11 strikeouts against the White Sox. He's allowed five runs total in his last five starts. It's the best pitching of his career happening right now. The Orioles have won three straight over the Rays.
